The book provides a lot of things that are common sense.  For example it talks about getting a massage once a month as a way to lower stress.  Really?
This doctor also compares getting acupuncture to "nothing"  well of course there is going to be some kind of relief since during acupuncture you are laying there relaxed.  And while you are relaxed of course your stress level is going to go down.

The questionnaire is too lengthy.  And in the end it said I had high Cortisol AND low Cortisol.  The responses are so canned.  If you go see your doctor and tell him you are suffering from the symptoms she mentions in her book (stress, hair loss, the usual things women go through during their lifetime at one point or another) they will recommend you change your life style habbits first.
Her book is basically all of the advice the doctors give you before they prescribe you tests/ medications.

I am very analytical.  I checked out her reviews on Amazon and ALL of them except maybe the first post by some girl named Alexi sounds valid.  However, look at the credentials and locations of the people in those reviews.  They are ALL if not MOST medical professionals that are probably friends of hers.
Don't be lead a stray by those types of reviews!! How convenient that as soon as this book came out, all of these professional individuals raved about the book.....

I was really looking forward to reading this book.  But I was completely disappointed.  I thought I could apply it towards my own life and that of the women in my family.
I wish my sister could get her money back!!!!!

    DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!!

I agree with the Publishers Weekly - this is the hormone book of the decade. Buy this book and ignore the anonymous hater who just posted. There are more than 2000 studies reviewed in this book, including information you won't get from your doctor from phosphatidyl serine to Heartmath or Orgasmic Meditation (OM) for your cortisol problems (and both high and low can occur in the same day).

This book has been very, very helpful.  After taking the quiz, Dr Sara will tell you what chapter to jump to so you can start in on what will help you.  She not only explains the different hormones and how they affect you (what it would be like if they were in balance – can’t wait until mine are balanced) but gives great advice not only on what kind of supplements to take, but how your nutrition & exercise also plays a role.  I’ve only had the book for a couple of days, and I am highlighting and taking notes.
I have three daughters that I am going to have read this book.  Wish I would have know these hormone issues years ago.  At least Dr. Sara is giving me the knowledge to help my daughters get their hormones in balance.
Thank you Dr. Sara for helping me balance my hormones.

This book is chock full of thorough scientific speak translated in a way that makes sense and without dumbing it down for the reader.
With tons of tips and solutions for frequent hormonal imbalances, Dr. Gottfried is a reliable and trustworthy hormone expert worth
listening to.  Her tips have helped me change the course of what I knew to be hormonal imbalance after a bad experience with hormonal birth control
but a few doctors I saw were convinced I required a psychiatrist who would've never addressed the root causes - and frankly left me
feeling incredibly frustrated with Western medicine. Cheers (and many thanks) to Dr. Gottfried on making so much valuable information available in her new book.

In her book, The Hormone Cure, Dr. Gottfried excels at simplifying the incredibly complex interplay of female hormones.  As a medical student, I found her analogies and metaphors absolutely key to understanding many of the challenging nuances of endocrinology.  Not only does Dr. Gottfried impart a deep understanding of how your hormones work, she makes it applicable to you & your life.  Her prescriptions are accesible and empowering!  Be ready.....because Dr. Gottfried's book is chock full of hard-science that will not only keep your neurons firing, it will also help you to achieve optimal well-being.  Dr. Gottfried is truly a leader in leveraging the latest scientific evidence to support her integrative approaches.  This book is essential to any woman still searching for balance.

    Easy read, reasonable advice.

I found the book very interesting, with easy to implement plans for hormone balancing. What is not so easy, actually figuring out what hormones are out of whack. From the questionnaires, I don't have a single hormone functioning correctly. You sort of take your best guess and hope you've guessed correctly.
