Captivating!!!!!!!
I read Mr. Keith's book and I found it to be very real, tremendously honest and revealing. I started reading it at night, and I kept saying to myself, "I've GOT to go to BED!! I've GOT to get some SLEEP!!" When I finished the book, I looked at the clock, and it was 4:30am in the morning! I just couldn't stop reading it!!

It tells about a man's heart-wrenching struggle to break free from a great and powerful enemy and his many attempts to escape from it's power. The up's and down's of his life moved me, and for many years he could not escape. He was in jail, yes a prison, until one day he defeated this powerful foe and was set free!! Now he can move about in freedom and enjoy the simple things of life. Many dark years had passed him by, but now he is living each day--FREE!!

FREE--FREE--FREE!!!

I recommend this book to EVERYONE--especially those who are imprisoned by prescription drugs.

May the Lord use this book to set people free....

Heart Gripping!
This book gave me a new understanding of the "Inner Prison" that addicts are in bondage to. Mr. Keith paints a very real picture for the reader to relate to. As I read this book it was almost as though the pain that he was going through was leaving the book and grabbing my heart. I could feel the hurt, the confusion and the questions of "Why?" that he must have been feeling. I highly recommend this book to not just those who are imprisoned to drugs and prescription meds, but also to everyone so that they too will begin to understand the pain and the torture that these "prisoners" are going through.

This is as real as it gets!!!
Wow!!! I'm not a reader, in fact, this is only the second book i've ever read and im 34 years old.

You can feel every emotion the author feels with every word you read. I couldn't even imagine going through a quarter of what Mr. Keith has gone through in his life. It must have been a living hell to wake up everyday just to be controlled by an addiction.

To see Mr. Keith struggles in the beginning to where he is right now in his life is proof that there is a God and he's real! Thank you for sharing your lifes struggles so many others can get the help they need. You are an inspiration to many.

DRUG ADDICTION--HERE IS YOUR ANSWER!
Amazing story of a man's journey with drug addiction. Even if you aren't an addict, you will certainly understand what an addict goes through after reading this book! I feel this book will be the answer to a lot of prayers! I work in the medical field. This is a growing problem!!! I believe this is an illness, just like any other. I urge anyone with a drug addiction or family/friend of an addict to read this book and seek help! This suboxone treatment could very well be the beginning of a new life for you!!! Please, do not be embarrassed to seek treatment. I believe this would be a great book for preachers, counsellors, police, etc. to read. It will give them a better prospective of what an addict goes through. This is an excellent, easy to read book. You will be glad you have taken the time to read this book!

Very interesting and eye opening.
This book gave me an instant eye opener about the addiction to prescription drugs. my father has a similar story, and i never could understand why he would choose to make the choice of doing the drugs rather than going out with the family and having a good time. now i see what it takes to get off of them. it takes strength and also it takes the want to. even though my father wasnt just addictied to prescription drugs but they are all very damaging and mind altering. i just want daniel to know that he is very lucky to have the family he has cause to this days me and my father are still working on the lost time and negletion. your family stood by your side and it seems to me you have a great realationship with your children and i envy you and your family for being so strong.CONGRATS!!!!

What a heart wrenching experience
A friend loaned me this book, as I have a family member that is also addicted to prescription pain medications. I felt as though I was sitting in the room with the author and that he was telling me about his experience with his addiction, and how I could help those that I love to get help for the same problem. As I was reading this book, it brought tears to my eyes and at the same time I found that I could laugh with the author as well. I never realized the problem with addiction to pain medications was so overwhelming. I would recommend this book to anyone that has or knows someone with this problem. I feel that I can now understand the addiction and know that there is help for this.

The hell of prescription drug addiction.
I recently completed a criminal justice class in which we were urged to learn more about the growing problem with addiction to prescription drugs. A friend recomended this book to me as I have a very close relative that has a problem with pain medications. This book helped me understand the addiction more than I could have ever hoped for, and really allowed me to drop some of the judgemental conclusions that I had drawn of people suffering with this addiction. The Imprisoned mind is a short journal written by a man getting off of prescription pain medications with the help of a new drug called suboxone. He has done an excellent job detailing every feeling he was having, while he was going through this hell. It is amazing being able to almost experience for yourself the hope that has come into his life, as you journy from addiction to clean for almost two years. I highly reccomend this book to anyone who is suffering, or knows someone suffering with addiction of any kind, or to anyone just wanting to become more familliar with the growing problem of prescription medication addiction in America.

Never Give up HOPE
When I was told that Daniel wrote a book, I was very surprised because I knew what kint of hobbies he has, and writing was not one of them. But once I started reading it I could not lay it down before having finished it a few hours later. While reading I had to think a lot of the time I spent with Daniel and his family. More than 10 years ago I used to be an exchange studend in Danville, AR. I came from Germany to live with the family Keith for a whole year. That was shortly after Daniels heart surgery. Back then, I knew he was taking pain medicine but was not aware of the severe problems Daniel used to have. Now, after having read the book, I am able to understand better how the drugs affected Daniels life and the life of his family.

I admire Daniel for his strengh and hope!
I am convinced that the great support of his family and the deep believe in God helped him through his addiction.
I recommend this book to everyone, especially to people who are addicted to drugs or know others who go through such an addiction to understand their situation better.
Daniel, thanks for sharing your "journey through addiction" with me and everyone who will read this book!
Sending love to you and your family from Germany -

Something every addict needs to read....
I think that it takes a man to realize that he has a problem. I think it takes a bigger man to admit he needs help....It takes even bigger man to actually go out and find help and not stop until he finds the help that he needs. After reading "The Imprisoned Mind" by Daniel Keith, I realized how important it is for any addict to find help. Daniel shows that he is no less of a person for having a problem. He explains all of the hardships he and his family had to go through due to his addiction. He explains in detail what his body went through. It does not matter what it is that you are addicted to, this book will show that there is hope out there for anyone. Just because one doctor says there is nothing out there, go out and get another opinion. The point that I took from this book, was to not give up. Do not give up on yourself, do not give up on your family, do not give up in finding a cure for whatever it is that you are addicted too. Not only is the book helpful for the addict, but it is helpful for his family as well. Daniel shows how his wife never gave up. She always stayed at his side...I would highly suggest this book to anyone who needed help!

Continue your Dream
When you hear someone is addicted to drugs you usually think of the lowest form of human life. Someone who takes and never gives back and lives life in the fast lane constantly. We see so much of it around anymore that we become hardened to the fact that not all addicts can help what has happened to them and what they are going through. Daniel makes us realize that is not the case and how hard it is to come back to the real world. What he and his family have gone through and survived gives us back hope and faith. This book give us a better understanding of the human mind and the strength it takes to take back your life when the odds are against you. God bless you Daniel and may you continue to dream.

The Imprisoned Mind
I know a lot of people that are addicted to prescription drugs. They have all asked me how to stop their addiction to perscription drugs, and I have asked atleast 11 doctors their opinions about ways of fighting this addiction. After reading "The Imprisoned Mind", by Daniel L. Keith, I am curious about the drug Suboxone, and I have questioned many doctors on their reasoning of why they wouldn't perscribe the drug suboxone. They said they have to go to additional training to be able to perscribe this drug. Personally, I find it to be a joke, I think if the drug can actually quench the addiction of perscription drugs like it did for Mr.Keith, doctors should perscribe it more often to addicted patients. I hope Mr.Keith's book helps other people, just like it helped myself understand drugs and what they can do to help people thwart their addiction.
