Inflammation is characterized as a silent killer. This ailment produced by overconsumption of malignant agents can lead to this chronic condition.  At last, “The Inflammation Diet for Beginners”  by Shasta Press. Tasty recipes which mix fruits and vegetables with healthy proteins offer a tasty yet ergonomic and economic way to prevent the progression of diabetes, cardiovascular conditions and allergic reactions caused by inflammation. This cookbook recommends a more basic approach to our diets. Many modern foods have interfered with our body's ability to fight harmful stumuli. That's led to an increase in various illnesses. Enjoy 100 healthy recipes. Some, but not all, ingredients, will be familar. Most recipes are suitable for those on gluten free diets. The digital format's sometimes hard to follow. But this cookbook will help people get started in living healthier lives.

The Inflammation Diet for Beginners gives an overview of what inflammation is, how it's related to disease, and foods that reduce/increase it. I wanted to know more about how inflammation and other symptoms or risk factors connect with each other. I found myself struggling to stay engaged with the book, though arranging the recipes by type of food (vegetables, seafood, etc.) was useful.

I've long believed that our Standard American Diet is ruining our collective health, and this book certainly confirmed that! However, the writing was quite dense and boring, and frankly a bit preachy. There was no transition between the introduction and the recipes, and while the recipes looked very tasty, some of them went against the advice in the first half of the book. (The intro warned against low-fat dairy products, but half the recipes called for low-fat dairy. Which is it?)
I was pleased with the recipes themselves, but not so much with the layout, writing, or presentation.

This Could Have Been a Good Book

The author’s generalizations and exaggerations made the book somewhat disappointing.  He stated that many of the ailments whose occurrences increased in “recent decades” were attributable to inflammation.  The information I found showed that while inflammation could contribute to making some conditions worse, it was not proven to be a primary cause of the disease.  However, the author did well when he noted the importance of balance between protein, fat and carbohydrates.  Offering a 14-Day Meal Plan was good but I would have liked to see nutrition information to help when choosing different recipes.
