I first read this story when I was twelve. My father had just finished it, and passed it on to me. Sure, it's a little crazy at times, but in some strange way it is something of a love story. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. There's a deep sense of loss and longing surrounding the main character. Kinsella uses the book as a way to reaffirm his passion for baseball. He even uses the game's lack of timekeeping and the fact that fair territory is infinite as plot devices. I have always loved this book. If you love baseball, you will love this book.
