A great book about the brillant career of Lew Wasserman, Jules Stein and MCA. It has great chapters that touch on actors like Clark Gable, Marilyn Manroe, James Stewart, and Grace Kelly. The influence of the mob and the many creative ways the mob had control through agents and producers to make money. The book also brings to light how great Lew was with the tax code and how he was able to use it for the benefit of MCA and they're clients. The book explains why actors now corporate themselves (ex. gerard butler is butler productions). This book brings many heavy hitters in many different arenas like politics, lawyers, labor unions, and even world leaders. The book has great references and along with the history of hollywood. I found this book to be useful for people pursuing a career in Hollywood in any capacity, it's very useful for person trying to build an agency or a sales force. I found the book to be very enjoyable, very interesting, and well written. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
