Practical Solutions.
A favorable review: Informative, educational and enlightening. The Little Black Book of Success: Laws of Leadership for Black Women by Elaine Meryl Brown, Marsh Haygood, and Rhonda Joy Mc Lean is a book you should find worth reading. *Clear, concise advice for advancing your career in corporate America. *Straight-to-the-point chapters offer you a plethora of valuable solutions you may incorporate into your leadership style. *Some of the information you read in this book you may have heard or read before, yet it is worth noting again to reinforce the lesson being told or taught. Chapter 7, pages 22-23 "communications culture" is explained. Also read chapter 8, pages 26-27 on respect; chapter 11, pages 36-37 on emotional intelligence; (the next two statements are quotes from the book) chapter 15, page 49 ".sometimes we sabotage ourselves by ignoring constructive criticism and refusing to change." And page 52 "What people think of you will determine whether they will follow you." See pages 70-71 for the topic of ethics. This is a quality book for any person trying to move/"climb" up at their work place. Also the "mamaism" may make you chuckle and LOL!

So excited about this book that I wrote the authors!
Very well structured. incredibly relevant, and likely beneficial and pertinent to anyone (not just African American women).
I became inspired last night while reading it; I actually could not wait to get into the office this morning and put to use some the pearls of wisdom I found in the text. I can not wait to share with my network confident that they will love it too. Instant classic!
Thank you thank you thank you to the authors!1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Strongly Recommended
Definitely a must-read for women who have found themselves in a rut of being overlooked, or passed over while promotions are allotted to a chosen few. I found this book to be very informative, encouraging and motivational. It has also provided confirmation that I am in the right mind-set to play "office politics." Thanks, just the book I have been looking for..
