Not as good as I hoped it would be
The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul was a pleasant read, with occasional interesting glimpses into life in Afghanistan for ordinary citizens, especially the life of women. The characters are unevenly written, and the second half of the book doesn't live up to the expectations set by the first half. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. By the time you reach the last 50 or 60 pages you can just about hear the book editor whispering in the author's ear to wrap it up and get on to the next thing. The ending is unconvincing and undermines the bigger issues that the book began to explore.
