    Priest Review

I have been a priest for over 40 years and I needed a new Liturgy of the Hours. This set is great and the price was less then I expected. If the person reading this is interested in books of prayer and reflection this could be what you are looking for. It can take a while to find your way through each book but it is not that difficult and it may enrich your prayer life.

    A reviewer

The Liturgy of the Hours, the prayer of the whole church, is beyond wonderful. The Bible psalms and other excerpts, as well as writings from early church fathers and saints, male and female, are placed in an orderly manner for daily reading. Additional antiplons, hymns and prayers reaffirm their messages of challenge and hope. If I had these beautifully bound, gilt-edged treasures on that proverbial desert island, I'd not flag down a ship. Can't I give this splendid set of books ten stars?

It is easier than you think.

I received the LOTH today and was a bit apprehensive as to whether or not I would have problems praying it...it is huge. Not to worry, it is easier than you can possibly imagine, especially if you are used to praying the Christian Prayer. I feel as though I have found the pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow 'spiritually speaking'. Give the LOTH and yourself a chance. With a little time and patience you will be praying it like an expert. Don't let your nerves stop you. I promise it is well worth the time and the money. My greatest joy is how much I feel connected to the Church as I pray.

    Well worth the money

It might seem overwhelming to newcomers, but it's pretty easy once you get used to it and those unfamiliar with it can use the annual guide that's included. It takes some effort and discipline to do this everyday, but the more effort you put in, the more rewarding it is.

The LOTH is without equal when it comes to prayer. Whether you pray once a day or three times or more these are the must have books. Once you get used to the format and flow, you will be on your way to praying the prayers of the Church on a daily basis. Imagine praying the same prayers as millions of other Catholics all over the world not to mention all of the priests and nuns and sisters and monks too, and yet God will speak to you personally as if you are the only one praying.
