I agree with the previous reviewer that these stories do not give much of a hint of Bradbury's mature work. They aren't meant to—they are his very earliest work, as he was trying his wings. Utube has several interviews in which he discusses his working method from the beginning—a story a week, no matter what. "If you keep at it," he says, "one day you will write something good, and then you're on your way." These stories are extremely interesting from the aspect of his developing mind. I enjoyed them very much, though they definitely aren't very good. He was a great man and a great writer. If this book isn't for you, he left plenty of short story collections that are wonderful. Enjoy him.

    Classic pulp sci fi

This is geeat, early Bradbury. It may seem very dated by todays standard but this is the stuff that started it all. Meant to be snippets you can get a taste for the authors style.

    Somehow misses the mark

Ray bradbury was one of the all time grear writers. But you wouldnt be able to tell that from this collection. I understand that every writer has to start somewhere and grow from there but with the exception of select few stories in this collection its quite obvious why the rest were "lost".
