John MacArthur has written a collection of prayers and gathered them in this beautiful book, “The Majesty of Prayer.” A statement in the front of this book sums up the reason for these prayers. MacArthur says: "My heart’s desire is that the prayers in this volume will inspire you toward more intimate communion with God, and will stir you to a heartfelt gratitude for the blessings He richly makes available to you." And these prayers did just that for me.

I don’t always read prayers, but I enjoyed these because they taught me how to pray better and how to be more specific. Some of the prayers in this book are: Delighting in God; God’s Kind of Love; His Mercies Endure Forever; The God of All Comfort; A Father Like No Other; Unending Grace; Celebrating His Great Mercy; He Is Our Everything and God’s Greatest Gift. And all of these and the rest of the prayers are encouraging, comforting and peaceful, and tell of God’s love, mercy and grace. To add to the effect of these prayers, awesome photos taken by photographer Dennis Frates have been added. On the front and back cover and on each page you will find beautiful, breathtaking landscape pictures that have a calming effect on the viewer. Overall, this is one of the most beautiful books I have read. This is a sure keeper. I strongly encourage you to pick up a copy of “The Majesty of Prayer” for encouragement and enjoyment. You will be happy with your investment.

WOW!! I received this book with two other small gift books, each book was more delightful and this book is just amazing. Beautiful photography, beautiful prayers that truly make you feel you are communing with God in person! Just a delightful book that I know I will read over and over. Prayers that allow you to delight in the Lord, to love God with your whole being, to express yourself perhaps in a way you have never been able to articulate. Prayers that will show you the mercies of our God, including insightful and thought provoking quotes from famous people. Each chapter begins with a Bible verse, includes a prayer along the theme of the chapter (or section) ending with quotes, all accompanied by beautiful photos. A wonderful book, I truly will cherish and enjoy many many times. 48 pages US $ 17.99 5 stars

    The Majesty Of Prayer
    Encounters With God's Amazing Grace
    John MacArthur

The Majesty of Prayer is a book that presents various Scripture verses with commentary by pastor and Biblical scholar John MacArthur. It combines worshipful prayers, quotes from well-known commentators as well as other writers, and stanzas from familiar hymns of the faith.

All of this is woven together and illustrated with the stunning photography of Dennis Frate. It works on three levels; the combination of different themes of prayer and praise serves as a vehicle for personal worship. Secondly, it is a beautifully crafted book in its flow and combination of its featured topics and thirdly it makes an excellent gift for a person in your life – the publisher has provided a “to-from-date” page as soon as you open the book.

You will enjoy this fifty page 8X8 small coffee table type book. If you are an amateur photographer like I am, you will appreciate Frate's work. I love it that they closed this little gem with a stanza from the familiar Fanny Crosby hymn, “Draw Me Nearer”, certainly the central theme of this unique publication.
