Diving into another summer read, I found myself taken away by this story.
1. Realism. This best thing this author does is great such realistic stories with great family dimensions.  The stories are always more than what they seem with the characters learning so much more about themselves and others around them.
2. I don’t need to be fixed. I love this storyline. Not everyone wants to be fixed. They are happy right where they are. They don’t need more cause what they have is enough. They are content with that and I love that Emaline is a content teenager. She has seen the mistakes her mother made and saw them for what they were.
3. Love. The love interest in quite difficult in this book. First you have Luke is great. And then he makes some mistakes that make me question everything. And Theo. A great fast-paced guy who is always on the go looking for the next big thing. Personally, I think Emaline, needs to find some other guy. That’s all I’m saying.
4. Parents. I really love that this book show some great family dimensions. Growing up with stepbrothers/sisters and half-brothers, I totally understood the family. They aren’t perfect but I adored the way Emaline’s family was always there for her.
5. Realization. The best part of the book is the realization of life and situations. You see, you can have the moon and more without having it all. Emaline saw that. She was happy and knew exactly what she wanted.  Watching her grow up, learning hard lessons made Emaline stronger and more aware of who she is.
The Moon and More is a story of life and love.  A coming of age tale, that touches elements that any reader can get into, The Moon and More is great.

I have read everyone of sarah dessens books, multiple times. And i loved every single one of them. Thats why i have to give this book one star- because i know she is capable of so much more. I hated theo's character, and felt like there was absolutely no connection between him and emaline. In fact i didnt feel a very close connection with emaline and anyone. all in all if this book was written by someone else it would have been a ok book but given my love for sarah dessen books its sad that this book didnt deliver the amazingness i waited so long for.

Never disappointed with any of her books.

I'm 24 yet still find her books engaging and enjoyable to read. I've been reading her novels since she released her first, and have remained a loyal fan since. She's an excellent writer and her books keep the reader interested from beginning to end. Despite it's label of being a Young Adult (or Teen) novel, it still relates to readers my age.

    ** spoiler alert **
While I absolutely loved this book, it was not one of my favorites of Sarah Dessen. When Emaline (beautiful name choice) was with Theo, I got a similar feeling to the one I felt when Caitlin was with Rogerson (Dreamland) or Halley and Macon (Someone Like You). While I was rooting for their relationship at first, I quickly felt that it was unhealthy for Emaline and wondered why she kept telling herself that she was happy - right? If you have to ask yourself that, chances are you are not happy! But that is probably a problem that a lot of girls that age have gone through at one point or another, so while I disagree with some of Emaline's choices, I cannot fault Sarah Dessen and say that it is not an accurate portrayal of at least some girls that age. I also felt weird when I felt myself rooting for Emaline to get back with Luke; there was just something there, and I had to keep reminding myself that he had cheated on her. I would love to see her in the future with a nice guy who treats her right, does not cheat on her, and does not look down on her because she is from Colby. This would make for a great sequel. The readers could also find out how things go for Emaline and Benji (I hope that they continue their relationship!) and see if Emaline's father ever matures and treats her like the daughter that she is. I wish that he and Benji would move into Miss Ruth's house so that Emaline could continue a relationship with both of them.

    Dessen does it again.

I am always amazed at how Sarah Dessen can tell the same story over and over in such a way that the books are completely separated from each other. Some authors give characters too much of a resemblance to a previous book, but Dessen, time and again makes her own individual characters that are so easy to fall in love with.

The end of this book surprised me, but in a good way. Emaline is by far one of my favorite characters, she's still trying to figure herself out but she's not so self centered that she stops being there for her friends and family. I like the situation with her father, and her little brother, and how things don't always turn out the way you want them to, but sometimes what you get is just what you needed.

The ending is very positive without being predictable and as always, I look forward to reading her next one. I just hope I don't have to wait as long.
