I really enjoy this series and am currently working on the Internal Devices series by Cassandra Clare which follows the same story but in a previous time period. My only disappointment is I bought the set to have it because it is one of those I will read again but the box the books are kept in was pretty damaged when it arrived so that was upsetting, in addition they released the set early in the stores but held off sending out the online order until after the 23rd when I pre-ordered in August. Those who pre-order should get their order fulfilled before you release in store to be fair. So ordering created concerns but the books are a great read.

Not really sure why anyone would buy all 5 books together, or even the first 4 books in the set, because it is MUCH cheaper to buy each nook book *separately*. Buying all *5* separately is $36 ($1 less than the 4 book set) and buying the first 4 separately is $29. Anywa...

Buying all *5* separately is $36 ($1 less than the 4 book set) and buying the first 4 separately is $29. Anyway, good series though. Just buy them separately! You'll spend an extra $10 if you buy the set!

    I Also Recommend:

The writing didnt seem to click with me very well but it is a go

The writing didnt seem to click with me very well but it is a good story nonetheless. I read it with my friends and we have discussed it as we read it, they did not have the same writing issues that I had so I know it is just my writing/reading style clashing with hers but I still love the story. The characters are so whitty and funny! I would have to say it has easily reached my top twenty list and maybe top fifteen.

I will be reading the Infernal Devices series as some of the characters from TMI are aslo in TID. I am very excited to read how these characters came to be the way they are and where they come from. My only regret is reading the Mortal Instruments series before the Infernal Devices series.

Read this if you can't find anything else.

Bought this series and read all 5 books together. Then find this series isn' t finished. She started a new series before this one was completed. WHAT ACCOMPLISHED AUTHOR DOES THAT? Neither loved or loathed this series, did pass the time. Characters seemed needy and annoying at times. Also, wordy text doesn't always make a better book. Sometimes it is just boring. First 2 books have good plots. 3rd thru 5th books you start to see non stop drama. Overall, i would say read it if you are bored. This isn't going to pull you in like Harry Potter, LOTR, or Twilight.

    Better than the Twilight Series

This series is great! The story is imaginative, and the characters are lovable and hate-able depending on who they are and their place in the plot. Loved it!

    Good Read

It draws you in & you can get lost in it. The books are short, about 300-400 pages so it goes by pretty fast.
