It's a good start for beginners
The text is a good start for beginners to the Internet. The overall theme of parental involvement in a child¿s Internet usage is very positive. The book also gives a reasonably accurate accounting of some of the dangers on the Net. However, there is a lot of parental idealism in the book which may not work in an imperfect world. The book neglects to bring across some very serious points, for example, that online predators and their techniques are becoming more and more sophisticated. Also, I would have liked to seen some of the text dedicated to minor technical aspects, like explaining how to check the cache of web browsers. Overall, it is a good book for beginners, but in order to have a full understanding of the dangers on the Internet, supplemental readings are a necessity. Was this review helpful?
