One record company's junk is another's treasure!

Just happened to be roaming around my local Barnes and Noble recently when I heard Ellie Lawson playing over head. I had to go into the music department and ask the person working what was playing. I wasn't even looking to by a CD that day. But I had to get this one. I bought it immediately and listened to it non-stop for an entire weekend. Ellie Lawson is in the same vein as Beth Orton, Anna Nalick, Toby Lightman, Sophie B. Hawkins. She reminded me a little of Alannis. She's got her own sound though. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. Get it while you can! I'm really suprised that Atlantic records wouldn't pick this up. I'm glad I found this gem!

Philosophy Tree [Barnes & Noble Exclusive]

I downloaded the single Gotta get up from here in January and wondered what had happened to this artist. This is now my favourite album of 2005. It has everything that you need, inventive lyrics, sweet catchy melodies and all 12 songs are fantastic. Its addictive.

ONE OF THE BEST MUSIC ALBUMS IN YEARS

Ellie Lawson's album is full of pure wholesome songs that just make you want to keep listening to it. Its not like the usual albums that only the single is worth listening to..the entire album is SOLID! Definitely worth buying.

Great Music - A Must Have!

Ellie Lawson is one of those musicians who actually has talent - something that is rare in this age of overhyped studio pop. Ellie has an awesome voice which perfectly complements her amazing lyrics and wonderful music. Don't let this one slip by!

Philosophy Tree [Barnes & Noble Exclusive]

I saw Ellie on the Ellen (Degeneres) show a few months back, and so when I saw the album in B&N the other day I thought I'd pick up a copy. It is really very very good. What with iTunes and iPods, i can't remember the last time I really got into an album, as a full thing-- but this is for real. Bit of advice. Buy it. Put it on repeat. Give your iShuffle a rest. Its got a good mix of styles and rhythms, and she can definetely sing. I really like the harmonies and lyrics too- very original. How the heck did Barnes & Noble get an exclusive on this?? well done!!

Ellie Lawson Is Someone People Should Know!

I bought this c.d. only a few weeks ago and I am still listening to it repeatedly. The fresh style of music Ellie gives and the wonderful charm the album gives off will draw almost anyone to her. She sounds a lot like Alanis Morissette- but indeed has her own style as I said. Many of her songs are insanely catchy and many others are beautiful. Her voice is strong and many of her songs speak just as strong. Best songs- LA, Gotta Get Up From Here, Down With You, Open Up The Door, Bigger Than You Ever Imagined, Get What's Mine and Why The Fighting. The two I find the most beautiful are Never Be The Same and Inside Out- two of her strongest on here. People who want smart pop/ rock and some fresh talent needs to know Ellie Lawson.
