I'll agree with Rob Ballister that this isn't the top of Drake's space-battle game. There is little of that here, and what there is...well, it's fairly cursory (the best of these is the a nice game of cat-and-mouse near the end). On the other hand, this is really the first opportunity to delve into more of Mundy's mission rather than Leary's. Here it's Leary's mission that, while certainly important, isn't really the driving force.
The biggest issue I see here is that because the two missions run parallel more than together, the narrative can be a bit disjointed, which certainly doesn't help.
I'd like to give this 3 and a half stars, as I enjoyed the book, but it simply wasn't up to the standards of the rest of the RCN series. I can't give it 4 stars, but I think it deserves a bit more than the 3 I'm giving it.

I had to re-read this book. My first time I must admit I gave it a 2 star rating, but it improve the second time I read it. It focused a lot more on Adele than David and I had to kind of "re-route" my thinking of the major character of this story. However, once I read it once, then read it twice, it greatly improved. Not the best of the series but a good story nevertherless. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
