A Must for Every Music Lover! The added One Hour DVD Documentary features Elvis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, and Buddy Holly, among others telling their own stories and singing their classic hits. A Collector's Dream!

"The Rockabilly Legends: They Called it Rockabilly Long Before They Called it Rock and Roll (Hal Leonard ISBN # 13:978-I-4234-2042-2)Co-Authored by Jerry Naylor, Former lead singer of the Buddy Holly Crickets, and Steve Halliday, best-selling author of over 150 books, which includes a one-hour DVD sampler, celebrates the genre's pioneers, including Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins and Roy Orbison. Filled with compelling personal stories and wonderful photos, the publication captures a sense of time and place.

"Rockabilly changed more than just music. It changed the entire culture - the way we live, what clothes we wear, how we walk, talk. You'll see in the book and documentary, in many ways we were color blind. So it had a great deal to do with integration, to breaking away from that harsh segregation."

"Rockabilly Music!" It's the energy, the rawness. It has complex simplicity. That's an oxymoron, but it's accurate. It moves you out of your seat. It's happy music and it gets you going. It's going to be around as long as there's music, as long as there's life."

This book is a "first-hand" documentaion from the Iconic Pioneers of Rockabilly and indeed the Birth of Rock and Roll, from their own words. A "Must-Read" for everyone who loves music. And the one-hour bonus DVD documentary attached within the book brings it all to real life.

    The Rockabilly Legends

This has to be one of the most beautifully presented books ever written about Rockabilly, unlike many books this was written by a Rockabilly Legend himself Jerry Naylor the former lead singer of the Crickets after the sad death of Buddy Holly.
For anyone wanting an anthology on Rockabilly this has to be it, wonderful photos of all the great legends and write ups with an added little gem tucked inside the back cover a DVD, no coffee would be complete without a copy of this book.
