    Outstanding Music, Excellent Sound Quality.

I rarely write reviews, but I felt that someone should correct the previous review regarding the quality of the transfers on this collection. The music here is of course, wonderful; a good cross-section of Gleason's lush romantic standards culled from several of his Capitol albums. The sound quality is not only good, but considering the age of the master tapes, it's amazing. If noise reduction techniques were applied, they didn't remove any of the life from the music. This is actually one of the best re-master jobs I have ever heard. To be sure, there are many CDs and especially downloads, of older music being sold that sound terrible. This in not one of those; clearly the sources of these recordings were not damaged vinyl (as with many other issues of this era) but the master tapes from the Capitol vaults. Very highly recommended!

arrangements were great only jackie gleason could arrange such great music

I don't know who the sound engineer was but he should give up his career & start digging ditches, The transfer from the Master Tape was horribly botched Even after all these years I can still here the great sound of the original 33 1/3'rds. None of that was captured on the cd's absolutely none, as a matter of fact the sound was irretating, what a shame.
