OK quick guide, some errors of fact and illustration
This is a reasonable 'quick overview' type of book, but not much more. The author included a translated list of terms, which is fairly accurate, which you will need to refer to several times since the illustrations and descriptive text are not very well organized. The black & white photographs are more usefull than the illustrations. The battle formations and tactics section was relatively good as well. <p> My major complaint with this book has to do with the color plates. The illustrator took lots of artistic liberty in terms of what should be grouped into single plates and even worse, the body proportions of the figures and the relative sizes of most of the weapons are just plain wrong. For pretty much the same price as this thin guide you could pick up one of Stephen Turnbull's books which are much better. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
