The most fascinating and moving book I have ever read.

This book fascinates me because it parallels history. The fight between Priscus and Verus really occurred in the Coliseum. The Sea Kings of Rome uses factual recorded history to weave an intriguing story based upon the life and times of Roman citizens, gladiators, slaves, and politicians. Nixon accurately portraits the lifestyle of gladiators with tremendous detail. I highly recommend this book for all readers.

This book is awesome.   I've never read a battle scene that felt

This book is awesome.   I've never read a battle scene that felt so real.  If this book was made into a movie, it would be a top box office for sure.  Awesome, awesome book.  Highly recommend it to anyone that likes gladiator books or movies.

    Insightful

Intriguing book! I loved following the lives of these two characters, understanding their backgrounds and their development. I found I could relate to them, sympathize with them, hope for them, and love them. How impressive that the author has so much human understanding!
    Great book, very insightful.

    Great book!

I really enjoyed the characters. They were rich and well developed, and rightly so because they are based on real people. Very powerful dialog. That is what I loved the most. Very well done.

    IT's like reading a movie.

Yeah, I thought this was a great book. I liked all the little historical facts, but mostly it was just great entertainment. I told my friends it's like reading a movie.

    Wonderful display of literary talent.

I found echoes of Shakespeare, Milton, and Virgil. The author is as well read as he is talented. I found it exciting and thrilling to the end.
