Dragonlance - The Second Generation

Not Weis & Hickman's Best

After reading the amazing Legends and Chronicles trilogies I couldn't help but feel majorly let down by Second Generation. It's a collection of short stories involving the children of the Heroes of the Lance. There is a serious lack of action for each story and I found myself struggling to get through it. Some of the stories were a utterly ridiculous, especially the one involving Caramon's three sons and the search for graygem. An interesting introduction to the characters in Dragons of Summer flame nothing more. Definetly not required dragonlance cannon.

Essential Reading

I originally started reading Dragonlance when I was a freshman in High School. I read many of the books back then and I was very much into the whole Dragonlance world. Since then, I've read nothing of Dragonlance since. I am now 27 and I just picked them up again. I read the Annonated Chronicles which was incredible. I then wanted to go right on to Summer Flame which I had read back in High School. But I had never read the Second Generation and I was told that it was essential for setting up the events and characters in Summer Flame. When I first sat down to read it, I was hoping to blow through the book so that I could get on to Summer Flame. I'm so glad I read this book! The book consists of I believe 5 short stories about some of the different characters that appear in Summer Flame. In the first story entitled, 'Kitiara's Son', we learn about Steel Brightblade, Kitiar's son. The other stories are entitled 'Wanna Bet?', 'Raistlin's Daughter', & 'The Legacy'. I might be forgetting one story but this is almost all of them. It is imperative to read these stories before moving on to Dragons of Summer Flame. They provide valuable background information that will make reading Summer Flame much more rewarding.

As Good as the Original!!!

If you have read other Dragonlance titles and think that it's absolutely great than here is some advice for you: Do not miss this epic adventure featuring the original cast from Chronicles and their children. Absolutly mind-blowing you cannot-whatever you do-put this down. When I read it I didn't even eat.I hope you love it as much as I do.

The Second Generation

This book is very cool! If you loved reading about Sturm, Kit, Tanis, Laurana, Raitlin, and the other Heroes of the Lance, then you'll love this book about 'the second generation'. The second generation includes stories about Steel Brightblade, Palin Majere, Tanin Majere, Usha Majere, Sturm Majere, and Gilthas. This book is a must read!

A most wonderful story

This facinating story is a wonder. It is a great book for all ages. This exciting book is one of the best books I have had the pleasure of reading. this book is full of imagination and creativity. The writers made this book fun for all ages and I would recomend it to anyone who is intrested in a adventurest book.
