Great Read for Novices & Beautiful Coffee Table Book!

I must say it's a true work of art - Great reading for novices like my self. I've already recommended it to 3 other people that are curious about rope bondage. Great reference book with beautiful pictures, safety precautions, a bit of folkloric history, great advice, hot little seduction story and best of all, the quality that only good writers have 'she keeps you sucked into the book the entire time'. Midori is truly on her way to become one of the top educators of our century! -Mel

All hype, not hot, not instructive

I'd give this book a C+ at best. Like Midori's workshops, it's heavy on style and shallow on the substance end. I'm not sure what the fuss is all about. But like a lot of prostitutes specializing in sadomasochism, Midori is trying to remake herself as she ages. This expensive book is glossy and will look good at first glance on your coffee table. But if you want to learn rope bondage instead of just look at pretty pictures, buy "Learning the Ropes" or "The Erotic Bondage Handbook." Don't get me wrong, the woman (Midoria) is eye candy alright but I don't think you're going to learn anything from this book. It's very soft porn with a high price.

    Magnificent Work

This coffee table size book, which you could put on your coffee table given the beautiful Craig Morey-produced photos, does a wonderful job in explaining some of the more beautiful aspects of Japanese rope bondage. This form of rope bondage has always for me had a mystical and alluring look to it and Midori offers excellent step by step instructions and diagrams of particular kinds of Japanese rope bondage. The book begins by talking about the history of Japanese rope bondage, then about the different types of rope available, safety, and then discusses seven specific rope bondage 'techniques.' Among them: simple breast bondage, arm & chest bondage, the beautiful 'Tortoise Shell Body Harness,' and the 'Bamboo Rod.' For people like me who are kind of 'klutzes' at intricate rope bondage, this book is wonderful, offering a kind of 'instruction manual' to Japanese rope bondage.
