Silent Warrior is a very interesting book.

I would like to recommend this book to readers that are interested in what went on during the Vietnam War. This book tells of the life that Carlos Hathcock as a United States Marine Corps member and the training he completed to become a Marine Sniper during the Vietnam War. Henderson tells how Hathcock helped set up and write the doctrine of the Marine Sniper Schools that are now training corpsmen as snipers. Henderson uses the dream state of Hathcock to tell stories of incidents that took place during Hathcock's tours of duty in Vietman. The information for this book comes from indepth interviews with Mr. Hathcock and many individuals that served in the Marines with Hathcock. This book has made me realize that Marines do have a heart and are not the 'Big, Bad, Tough Guys' that people are made to think they are. They take their job very seriously and with honor and integerity with no gain or glory. Take the time to read this book, you might just learn something new.

A must read for all Marines

The saga of Carlos Hathcock continues with more vivid details of his childhood life. The reflection of Carlos' life from past to present and vis versa gives the reader a feel of his life. I recommend to those who have read Marine Sniper to read Silent Warrior.

    Welcome home pig!

At last a fitting cover to a true hero's story. I was a MP in Viet Nam, after Hathcock helped changed how we did things. His missions were the spice of many a meal. I now see they were true. Hathcock was first a MP before becoming a sniper. PIG means PRIDE, INTEGERITY AND GUTS. He had more than anyone. Carlos changed warfare forever. We will miss you my brother. You will be remembered. A must read for all greenies.

    Interesting and Inspiring

While Silent Warrior offers little new information that wasn't brought forth in Marine Sniper, I enjoyed the additions and in depth situations that Charles Henderson had to cut from the original publication of Marine Sniper. If you've read Marine Sniper, I have to recommend buying Silent Warrior. It may have been a difficult book to enjoy if I hadn't read Marine Sniper, but the quality of storytelling is inescapable. Charles Hendeson once again did and honorable job telling the life and career of GySgt. Carlos N. Hathcock II.
