Reviewed by Avery, age 9, for City Book Review
If you like Monster High or Harry Potter, you will really like this book, even if you haven’t read the first one. This book is about two sisters who are snake-girls, Robert (who is new to Lovecraft Middle School and will quickly figure out this school isn’t anything as it appears and is actually a gateway to another dimension), a mansion that is haunted with ghouls, monsters, and beasts, and it will be his job to help his friends return the dimensions to the right people: his friends.
“He’s amassing an army like nothing the human world has ever seen.”
This book was really cool for several reasons. The first is the drawings spread throughout the book that gives you some idea of what the author was seeing when they wrote the book. The next thing I really liked is you can visit the book website and “enroll” in Lovecraft Middle school, where you can find even more adventures, and lastly my copy came with a 3D changing cover that shows the slither sisters in all their forms. Kind of creep and cook at the same time. I really hope they come out with a number three!

Once again we join the adventure of Robert a seventh grader at t

Once again we join the adventure of Robert a seventh grader at the new Lovecraft Middle School picking up right where Professor Gargoyle left off. There are two new monsters to fight against in this book, twin sisters who are running for student counsel. Will Robert be able to stop them before they take over the entire school?

Once again Lovecraft Middle school sucks you straight into the story, with Robert battling monsters from another dimension that appear as students from around the school. I absolutely loved this book it’s a great continuation of the story but also in this book Charles Gilman has added an unlikely ally to Robert and Glenn as they continue on in a search to stop the evil Tillinghast. Not only is this a fantastic story it also has some amazing illustrations by Eugene Smith who does a fantastic job capturing what Charles Gilman is trying to get across to his readers and bringing it to life throughout the pages of the books. This is definitely one of those “fun for all ages” books making it a perfect series to read along with your kids.
I was sent a free copy of this book for an honest review.

After Robert and Glenn narrowly escape through the gates with t

After Robert and Glenn narrowly escape through the gates with their lives. In The Slither Sisters, they end up right back where they never wanted to be. And this time the girls are trying to get them to give up their bodies to the master. One thing that they didn't count on is that this time, they find a friend on the other side.

I love the idea behind the story of how Lovecraft Middle School exists. This combination of the different dimensions and how they have come to overlap. Some of the pictures, and maybe a little of the story line maybe a bit on the scary side for younger readers.

This series reminds me of the feelings I had while reading The Witches by Roald Dahl. It's got somewhat of a darker storyline, but it's very imaginative, unique and fun to read.

The friendship between Robert, Karina and Glenn is slowly becoming something that is very solid and I for one am very interested to see how that is going to develop more as the series goes on.

The books are very fast paced, constant action and adventure. With creatures from other dimensions coming through, slowly overtaking the school. But which students and faculty can you trust...and how far will they go?
