Intimacy Level: GOOD
Style: African American Romance
Series: Love Conquers All #5
This was another well written story by the author and I truly enjoyed it. I enjoy her fusion of friends, family and couples as you feel like your watching a long episode of soul food. Roxanna, was a shy ten year old who always admired eighteen year old Adam. However, Adam found Roxanna to be irritating and menacing as she was also the best friend of his sister. Fast forward to sixteen years later, hurt and sadness shared has brought Adam and Roxanna together.
This story had a lot of emotions and story lines that brought back characters from past books in the series to The Sweetest Love. Adam had a a good career and Roxanna is just starting her life's journey with her new career. Once Adam and Roxanna reconnect, they find that their new found relationship will unexpectedly be tested as trust and misunderstandings plays a roll. While all this is unraveling, Roxanna, has her own past to deal with as surprises after surprises occurs. I love Roxanna and Adams relationship, it felt like a genuine romance that makes you fall in love with their love.
The best part of this story for me was to reconnect with a few favorites from past books, Karen and Starr. Also, the new found friendship of girlfriends that took shape between Jen, Sonia, Roxanna and Kay was exciting to read as I will assume there will and might be a story for each girl. For me personally, the author's stories are heartfelt and makes you feel like connecting with your own girlfriends and family, as well as chit chating about men.
