Fire and Ice. I can't believe that I am saying this but I found

Fire and Ice. I can't believe that I am saying this but I found the sex in this book to be a little overwhelming. In the real world you rarely see
cats humping each other the way Iliana and Nickolas do. I would of liked a little more chasing than clawing and the claws were certainly
out and sharpened in this installment. Nickolas was dangerous and I liked that about him but I felt he lacked the smoothness required to
conjure the type of arousal he did in Iliana. The phone spats that somehow transgressed into an intense session of sexual awakening
felt like fire and ice for me.
The heat between these feral creatures was definitely scorching but there was a coldness to the dialogue that was just too abrupt for me
and the evocations did not quite land. I would have liked Iliana to have been less clueless and more in control. Nickolas on the other hand
is almost too sinister and so far beyond obsessed with her that he objectifies her in a way that make his demands rather conceited and
demeaning. I felt as though to a point he regarded her as his possession rather than the love of his life.
I was contented with the way the story started. The two characters were broken and the relationship seemed as though it was on the verge
of collapsing. But then (and this is why I admire Ross's ability to twist a scenario so sweetly) they find each other again. The worn out skin
of their dull and uneventful past is ripped away and the two new and improved versions of themselves emerge fresh and wild.
There is a positive message in this book that for me is the silver lining that we all secretly hope to find whenever we delve in these types
of guilty pleasure romances. Love requires a great deal of effort to last a lifetime and although the fire may cool to an ember it can be
rekindled to burn brighter than it it before. All that is required is the commitment and willingness of the two hearts involved.
In all of the books I have read from Sandra Ross, she has done well to deliver those silver linings that I and I am sure so may others like
me crave. Read this book and discover that inside all of us there is a creature such as Iliana dying to be tamed!
