Wonderful Book for Seekers
Every Seeker has at some point experienced an unexplainable moment. These are great opportunities to expand your perceptions to begin to believe in something greater then yourself that cannot be explained by your culture, current beliefs or family. Any of Carlos Castanada's books will give you the opportunity to discover another perspective about what reality really is. For those who call themselves Seekers - looking for the meaning of life - this is a foundational book. This was the first book I read that started me on the path to greater consciousness.

I cried, I laughed and I journeyed deeply into the heart of this incredible mystic; with him into the meaning of and purpose of life. I found many answers to my questions and was very inspired by Carlos Castaneda to continue my search even deeper into the mysteries of the human spirit and mind. I thank him as a student would thank a teacher with deep love and gratitude for his contribution to greater consciousness for us all. -

Captivating
I read this book once over thirty years ago. I was drawn in then and again more recently. The experiences and teachings aquired by the author became a part of my own and have stayed with me for a lifetime. Don Juan shares his gifts of wisdom with the author. In this book these gifts are shared with the reader opening up a whole different world and transition of thought. I highly recommend this book for its multideminsional quality and reflective content.

Outstanding.
Being a student in a sub-field of anthropology, I am very interested in past cultures. This is perhaps the first ethnography I've read, though some might not consider it one. Castaneda conveys a wonderful account of the shamanistic system of beliefs of Don Juan, and by extent, those of the Yaqui Indians. Even non-anthropologists or people who aren't specifically studying this particular subject can take away things from this masterpiece. Whether you're interested in this for scholastic purposes, or simply curious about shamanism, I strongly recommend this book and feel that anyone who reads this will take away something beneficial.

A Timeless Classic
I totally forgot how great this book was from when I first read it in high school a million years ago, or so. A fantastic read that will stay with you throughout your entire life. It will slip into your subconscious and have you TRANSFORM into a better thinking person of everyday life. And I don't even smoke the stuff...really!

Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge
This book is a classic. It made me question my own reality and is written in a way that makes me question whether Castaneda was really on to something. Enjoyable.

Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge
This is one of Castaneda's early books, written while he was still telling the truth. Pay less heed to the later books, but the early ones are great if you want to begin to open your mind to the real possibilities of life. Fun to read, too.

Truely A Work Of ART
These stories are like nothing I have ever imagined. I have found myself spellbound from begining to end! If these books are not made into movies someday then Hollywood will have missed the chance of a lifetime....

See things in a new light
This book is excellent in the sense that it will make you question your own reality and ask yourself what is your path in life. As a college student, this book has opened my eyes to search for other forms of scholastic study in terms of philosophy and logic that seem to stray from the Socratic Western view. The views and experiences presented in this book are enlightening, cultivating, and most of all, they make you think. I encourage anyone with an open mind (or without an open mind for that matter) to pick this book up and take a journey through the mind and reality of a Mexican brujo.

Excellent
I read this book for the first time when i was tweleve. I loved it. Before I had read it I was being followed by crows ... which i assumed was a sign of my upcoming death, i was terrified. I haven't really worried about the crows since...

A Journey Beyond Our World
This book is a masterpiece on the tribal rites and rituals of the nearlt destroyed natives of the southwest US and Mexico. It is a detailed and raw account of Castanadas own experiences in his training under don Juan. Anyone who has interest in examining the world in any unconventional manner should definitely read this book.
