Great fantasy book
I really enjoyed this book! If you like fantasy novels, this one is pretty good. It reminded me of Orson Scott Card's tale "The Treasure Box." A lot of action, plenty of humor, suspense, thrills, and a little carnage! I also liked that it was light on foul language and seduction. In my opinion, an author who fills his novels with sex and swearing is compensating for a lack of creativity and skill. This novel doesn't need all that junk because the author skillfully tells a great story.

Good read
This is a good story. Interesting characters that begin a journey and are unsuspectingly, and in Amra's case unwillingly, tapped to be heroes by a pair of old gods. They are tying up loose ends of the existance of magic in that world. I read it in one sitting because I wanted to see what was going to happen next. The five chapters that follow from the prequel are just as good, and seem even better written. *****I agree that sex does not have to be explicit inany good tale, only implied when absolutely neccessary. As Amra says, "You don't need the details."

Fun
An adventure that reminded me much of the old Conan comics. Easy, light reading.

Surprisingly good.
Right off, there are some pieces missing from the story - background stuff that sets up the basis for the narrative. That said, while the reader may not know what led up to the events described, there is enough info to support the story. (Perhaps the rest will be explained in the promised prequel?) Overall I found the story to be engaging and will likely look for the prequel and any sequels that might be forthcoming.
