    A great gift indeed

Got this book from my daughter for Christmas. As I sat and went through the photos and many collectibles, it took me back in the times of baseball where it was played as a game and not just for the money. It showed me the men of the game and how much love they had for it. Through the book it shows the history of the game along with many of the hero"s. If you love the game of baseball and follow the players through the year's you will love this book.

    more from this reviewer

Great Yankee book.. I LOVE IT!!

This is a great book. I can't believe how cheap it is & can't believe it was in the bargain section. It has great stories and photos, but my favorite part is that they replicated old tickets, menus, score cards, letters & so much more. They are protected in an envelope with wax paper, but you can take them out to hold them. They seem so authentic. I have gone back to buy several of these books as gifts. Everyone loves them. It is truly a great book!

The Treasures of Major League Baseball

Many events from the game of baseball have changed the outlook on American history. The non-fiction book, The Treasures of Major League Baseball, highlights the past events that have happened in each decade of Major League Baseball. I thought this book was well organized and that it gave the readers an abundant amount of information on the game of baseball. The author of this book, Tommy Lasorda, was a manager for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1976 to 1996. Now, Lasorda and his wife, Jo, live in a peaceful neighborhood in the outskirts of San Francisco. I would recommend this book to readers that have interest in baseball or history. I believe that without baseball, America would be struggling to find its true national pastime.
