This Book Has Outlived Its Usefulness
Twelve step groups for adult children have tried to use this book for years, primarily because it was the only readily-available text out there. But beyond the cover, the book never even uses the term 'adult child'. Adult Children of Alcoholics has finally published their own fellowship text to address recovery from the effects of being raised in an alcoholic or dysfunctional family. I heartily recommend that book, written by adult children for adult children, as the preferred alternative to this work. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Worth every penny
I am liscenced psychotherapist and an adult child of alcoholism. From either perspective this book is invaluable for working the 12 steps. Simple, easy to read, will benefit anyone in recovery. Of particular note is the replete but consise and simple instructions on working the steps (especially #4)Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
