Ultimate Scene Study Series for Teens: 55 Short Scenes

As a theatre arts teacher and arts education advisor for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I know the difficulty in finding appropriate, yet stimulating theatre arts materials for middle and high school age students. Ms. Lamedman¿s 55 Short Scenes for Teens, is an exciting compilation of scenes that teachers can use in the everyday classroom and for performances. Students will be compelled to read and perform scenes from the book as the many situations illustrated reflect the real life situations of teenagers today. In addition, the way Ms. Lamedman has divided the book up into sections for different genders will be extremely helpful to teachers when selecting materials for their students.

Ultimate Scene Study Series for Teens: 55 Short Scenes

What an invaluable tool for high school drama teachers. Finally, a book of scenes that were written for teens and about teens. The realistic characters and scenarios in this book make it easy for teenage drama students to find a connection to their own lives. This book eliminates the drama teacher¿s dilemma of having to cast their students in parts that are too old for them or in parts that they can¿t relate to at all. A must have book for every high school drama teacher.

Ultimate Scene Study Series for Teens: 55 Short Scenes

As Executive and Artistic Director of Arts Conservatories for young people for the past twenty years, I know how difficult it can be to find quality original monologues and scene work for young actors. The subject matter is generally either inappropriate or trite and doesn¿t make for meaningful dramatic growth in the classroom. I found the answer in the work of Debbie Lamedman. She has developed relevant and cutting edge material for young actors, written in a style to which they can instantly relate and understand. The dialogue is both witty and insightful and written in ¿the language of today.¿ We are making Ms. Lamedman¿s books a permanent part of our instructional library.
