    more from this reviewer

    I Also Recommend:

songs are clear and speak to me

Recently it occurred to me that I lost interest as music videos became popular.

I like their music. The music and the artists is enough for me. The listening is enough for me. Videos are not important, only the audio matters to me. I rarely watch music. I rather read the liner notes, or do something else to the music.

On this CD, there were many songs I was familiar with. But two were new and particularly enjoyable to me, "For Baby" and "Don't Laugh at Me".

BTW, the ratings categories "It is" and "Good for" above do not seem applicable to me.

    Peter, Paul and music

When I first heard Peter, Paul and Mary...more years ago than I care to mention!...I was blown away. Their music changed my life and I will always love it. This particular album is a great way to introduce more young people to the joy of it.

    Purely American

This cd, for me, is American folk music at it's finest. From Woody Guthrie standards to songs that I've heard on John Denver and Captain and Tennille albums growing up, it's all there. The anti war songs aimed at Vietnam in the '60's can easily be applied today. Peter, Paul and Mary are timeless and perform these standards in their own harmonic, melodious style. I find this to be very relaxing to listen to on the way to work, a lot of it is happy music. It puts me more in the mood to cope with the everyday stresses I have to face. There is nothing offensive about the lyrics, so moms can play it for their kids, it may even help to put some infants and toddlers to sleep at nap time. I thoroughly enjoy this cd, and I would highly recommend it. :)
