    Excellent, but disturbing again.

The Walking Dead is an excellent addition to the zombie genre. The TV show is not worth space on my DVR, but this book is worth having on my Nook Tablet. The black and white drawings are great, but a color version would enhance the zombie creep factor especially at the prison gates. The usual craziness ensues in this volume, and Lori has a baby. So cute, and scary too.

If you have read this far, then you should keep going. Do not start out with this issue. You will be lost. I am in it for the long haul with this amazing and deeply disturbing series.

    "Calm? You gotta be kidding!"

This is the middle chapter in a long story arc in the Walking Dead saga.
The fun kicks off in Vol 5 - but you need to pick up the whole series to get the big picture.
Although this covers the time between two of the series' major events, there's plenty of action and drama for fans.
It really is the calm before the storm, but don't expect a peaceful idyll in the post Zombie epic. The pacing of the writing and art is part of the enjoyment of this series.

But - be warned. This is not for everyone and readers who don't normally go in for this sort of stuff should think twice. And then think again.
If you're a fan of the genre you're probably reading this already.
