    Well-Researched Story, Steamy Romance and a Page-Turner!

Steamy may not be my usual genre but I found this book to be a definite page-turner! Though a fiction novel, it has a basis of well-researched facts about the spoils of war and is full of intrigue with a dose of steamy and a bit of romance. The lead characters, whose work in public relations and journalism directly involve them in the plot, are well developed and I enjoyed their endearing qualities. The story and the characters keep your interest throughout and I look forward to a sequel!

    Insightful & Entertaining!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was truly a page turner and captivating read. The international conspiracy was thought-provoking and the love story was an added bonus. (Truth be told, I didn't expect sexy "love scenes" in a book about War Merchants!) In fact, all I could think about while reading this book was how great a film it would make one day! It portrayed a discerning view into the internal climate of multi-national corporations as well as World War history. The author really did his homework! Five Stars!

    A thriller with intelligence

The War Merchant is a well researched, fact based novel of foreign intrigue. Gregg Feistman has written a conspiracy fiction that is also thought provoking. Can war really be good for global economy? Can a corporation actually start and control a war and profit from it? Mr. Feistman's characters (Michael and Cassidy) have uncovered evidence of a world wide plot. Through good journalistic investigation they discover disturbing facts about the Military-Industrial complex. As the "layers of onion" unfold, they learn just how far reaching it is and who is really behind it. I found the revelation both interesting and disturbing. Feistman keeps you guessing, and then second guessing, who the good guys are... or are they the bad guys? Just when you think you've got it figured out, the game changes. As a fan of international conspiracy and espionage stories, I expected the standard conventions. But this is not your typical "Spy vs. Spy" novel. No obligatory chase through half of Eastern Europe. Rather, Feistman stays focused on the plot. The story is about the investigation, which is what I found most intriguing. The book is intelligent. Yes, it is fiction, but it gives you plenty to think about.

The War Merchants - A Pleasant Surprise

This book was given to me for a birthday gift and at first I was less than thrilled. Reading about a secret cartel and economic facism did not sound appealing, yet I felt obligated to read the book since it was a gift. It turned out to be the best gift I have ever received, and the best book I have read in many years. Once I picked it up, I hated to put it down, and stole every available moment I had to read more. The characters were described in such vivid detail that I would have easily recognized them if I had met them in person. The scenery came to life right before my eyes and etched itself into my mind. There was a major plot, and it was extraordinarily well-developed, but I especially enjoyed the numerous "mini plots" that were interwoven throughout the novel. The author did an amazing job of offering bits of information that, if interpreted correctly, had greater meaning than one might have originally anticipated.I never knew if something I read was a helpful clue or deliberately designed to throw me off track, and that was my favorite aspect of reading the book. I loved trying to arrange the pieces together to figure out the puzzle, and I changed my mind several times regarding the characters and whether they were heroes or villains. This book gets top scores for originality, style, character and plot development, intrigue and drama.I literally did not want to put it down, and Gregg Feistman,a first time author, is to be applauded for his ability to captivate this reader, who does not usually sit still for very long. This book will appeal to all audiences, because it combines the effects of war with romance, brutality with tenderness and loyalty with betrayal. There is something in this book for everyone, and I eagerly anticipate this talented author's next success.

    A must-read novel!!

I'm someone who often finds it difficult to finish a book unless it's REALLY interesting. I have ADHD, which adds to the problem, since I'm very easily distracted. As a PR professional who is somewhat of a history buff, "The War Merchants," not only kept my attention as I eagerly anticipated the next turn of events, but also became my go-to respite whenever I had a few minutes to enjoy reading. In fact, I found it hard to put down. Feistman combines PR and war profiteering into a corporate espionage read that keeps you on your toes and excited about the outcome. His characters and locations quickly come to life as you visualize yourself in their shoes and places. The author has managed to make his first novel one that will set the stage for (hopefully) many more to come, since I will now be anxiously awaiting the next one!! I recommend it as a must-read for everyone.
