I wanted to like it more...
I read the first two books in the series and immediately bought this one because I enjoyed the first two so much. I did not like this third one much at all.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
The writing style was good and the author's world build was very well done. She does Steampunk very well and I very much enjoy her inventions and the thought she puts into how things work together and even more how magic works opposed to science and how they work together in some cases.
I didn't like any of the characters in the book. Not even the ones returning from the first two. Most seemed petulant and spoiled and more determined to have their way no matter what than have a civilized conversation. I had no sympathy for the two main characters because they were utter morons determined to be martyrs to their own particular causes. I get that they were young and making poor choices but one of the pair should have had some sort of common sense.
Since this is a nook book and I enjoyed the first two so much, I'll keep this one, but if it was a paper copy I would be getting rid of it never intending to read it again.
