A Riveting Account of how the United States got into the Drone Business

Mazzetti has seemingly talked with virtually everyone in the Bush and Obama Administrations about how we come to find ourselves where we are in the forever war against terror. While drone warfare may have much to recommend itself in terms of saving civilian casualties and avoiding otherwise having to put troops in harms way, Mazzetti makes clear that if those implementing a strategy of warfare by drone are not exceeding careful and thoughtful, characteristics at a very high premium, then this high tech strategy can and will backfire on us and create more enemies that hate America around the globe. No reader can fail to comprehend the hate she would feel if a loved one were extinguished while sitting at a dinner table because a US drone had been carelessly and indiscriminately targeted. But that is exactly what is happening at far too often. I recommend this book highly to all those interested in our military and geopolitical strategy in the age of terror.

    High Recommended. Worth reading!

A very good history of the CIA and the Defense Dept. Since being a Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War, I really could relate to the events at that time. A must read by all baby boomers.
