I'm sorry but I was very disappointed in this book. I have many

I'm sorry but I was very disappointed in this book. I have many garden books that I love to browse thru in the spring for inspiration but this one did nothing for me . The design guides with plant listings were small and very hard to put to any real use. The photos were uninspiring as well. Nothing in this book made me stop and say " wow this is great". I have been gardening for 20 years and have a large yard so I'm not new to this.

Good, but not as useful as her last book

As the publisher's synopsis says, Tracy di Sabato Aust is passionate about plants, and that comes through in this book. The book makes its way clearly through the principles of garden design, and the author illustrates the principles with examples of medium-sized and large gardens that she has designed. There are beautiful photographs of the gardens, but I would have liked to see more photographs or drawings illustrating the basic principles. I was disappointed in this book because it isn't as unique as her first one, 'The well-tended perennial garden'. That one contains information I haven't found elsewhere. This book is good, but not as distinct from the pack.
