    Highly Recommend

This is the only book I recommend (and lend) to any friend who is pregnant! The writing style is clear and informative. Best of all, this was the only pregnancy book that didn't scare me completely about all of the many things that can go wrong. Instead I found a wealth of information that covered traditional medicine, tests and procedures, as well as some of the alternatives my midwife uses. Not too touchy-feely, but doesn't ignore the mind-body connection. Also, the quotes from some of his patients both helped put the information in context and added perspective (as in, I'm not the only one feeling/thinking this way).
    I highly highly recommend it!

    Everything in one place

This book has everything - it covers regular tests and treatments that every OBGYN will offer, but also everything you might want to know about midwives, doulas, herbs to take and those to avoid, etc. Most importantly (for me) it didn't scare me about all of the many many things that can go wrong during pregnancy. The writing style is very matter-of-fact, and I felt informed but not overwhelmed. Not too touchy-feely either. It had enough text that I could understand some very technical things, but I didn't have to read entire chapters at once - a great reference book.

    The best information out there!!!

I bought this book right before I went to Dr. Evans office. He confirmed for me that I was really pregnant!!!. He is such a great person, warm, reassuring and answered all my questions, just like his book. I even emailed him to ask him certain questions and he responded very promptly. I highly recommend this book to all first time moms especially. It is very to the point and talks about all things related to pregnancy and childbirth. Worth every penny!!!!
