    Great insight on Native Americans

I have reread sections of the book several times. It is indeed very thought provoking and squalls the stereotype of the typical "indian" being inferior, savage, and/or uneducated. If you want a deeper understanding of Native Americans, no better way then to read directly from them on life, death, learning, leading others, family, the government, and faith. It is inspirational and as the editor stated "These are wise men, they have much to teach, if we listen carefully."

    Very Powerful

This book made me really think about our heritage. At times I was very sad at the things I read. I think everyone should read this that is an American.

This simple but well done book will be a thought provoking and changing read for most ... I grew up in an Indian and Hispanic culture around me and often wondered why things happened the way they did ... I cant be proud of things that happened to this beautiful and religous culture that is remarkably still very alive and surviving ... I actually know now where some and possibly most of my beliefs come from now and how or why they were influenced by my knowledge of these beautiful people ... d hopson in nm

    Excellent.

I'm not quite finished with this book, but it has been amazing so far. I recommend it to everyone. It left me quite embarrassed and disappointed that some of my white "ancestors" in charge often referred to the original people of America as savages. I urge you to read a bit of their writings and judge for yourselves. Pretty confident you will not be disappointed.
