There’s a Hair in My Dirt is a non-Farside book by popular American cartoonist, Gary Larson. It begins with a worm family having dinner when the young worm son complains of a hair in his dirt. This leads to his father telling the story of Harriet, a young woman who lived in a cottage by the woods. At once a humorous and cautionary tale, it is, of course, graced throughout with Larson’s quirky illustrations. It may look like a children’s storybook, but it proves to be much more. Every square centimetre of the pages is worth close attention. An extra Larson fix for Far Side addicts.

Had a good idea but didn't get away from adult mode

I am 9 years old and thought the book would be really funny. What could be lower than a worm? I was sad to see cuss words and pictures that I thought took away from the book. Mr Larson had a great idea to teach a little 'nature science' in his book but I think he fo...

Mr Larson had a great idea to teach a little 'nature science' in his book but I think he forgot what age group he was writing for.

    A 'dirty' story

This story is something to read to little inquisitive children, answers many questions of life and has a suprise ending. Makes a great prose piece for those who need pieces for competition.

A Kid's Opinion On A Kids' Book; There's A Hair In My Dirt

I liked 'There's A Hair In My Dirt' because it wasn't what you would exactly expect from something that has to do with worms but I thought it was very cute. The author did a great job in my opinion. I also think that it is a great book for kids and I'm a true expert on that!( I am a kid aged 11.) Parents, it sounds really great if you read with enthusiasm. I am not sure why though. I really liked the characters especially the little worm and the lady who loves animals. Iwon't spoil the end for you though. It's a great book. Go Buy It! :):D:):D:):D (Look sideways to see the little faces expressing how I feel about the book.)
