    Quite uneven

There were some good essays, some wonderful essays, and some that read like a high school English assignment. Overall, a very uneven concoction. I don't recommend this book.

    So-So

The book was okay, but I think my expectations were too high. There was one essay that I felt measured up, as per quality of writing (not by Heather Armstrong) but overall, this book disappointed me.

What Happens When I Ask My Personal Friends To Throw Together Essays

Highly uneven. Mostly boring and poorly written essays by the Armstrong's personal friends. My high school literary journal had better stories and better editing too, I might add.

The only thing I regret is that in the rush to put this book on the remainder bin small gems by some of the talented authors will be overlooked, such as Laid Off Dad. But hopefully the good writers will write their own books one day.

Although this book contains a bunch of essays, I loved it. It's one of those books you can't put down. GO READ IT NOW. A-
