I could really feel this book! It a wonderful message of hope for all those who are looking for something new. I love it! I have 40 diet books sitting in my garage and I haven't figure out what to do with them yet.

If you open this book expecting to be disappointed, then you probably will be. It's not written for those who are looking for yet another excuse for why they can't lose weight. It's written for those who open the pages and plug in the CD determined to make a difference in their lives, to listen to the author speak (regardless of the fact that people complained about her voice in other reviews) with an honest determination to hear what she is saying. It's written for the optimist, the person tired of the up and down battles with weight loss, who has finally realized that in order to change their body they will have to first change their brain. Was this review helpful? I am one of those people. I've been through all of the ups and downs. I've lost tons of weight with other programs in the past, and gained it all back and more. I was then faced with a very serious health problem, and a large part of what was keeping me from getting well was the extra 35-40 pounds I gained, on an already overweight frame, due to prednisone.
I've now been working with the Think Yourself Thin program for nearly a year. Dr Beuhler's voice is not really that nasal or annoying at all; in fact, if listened to with a hopeful and positive outlook, I find it comforting. Perhaps I find that comfort because because I entered this "relationship" with the hope that she could help me, having read the text through once before plugging in the audio files; I had seen how much plain basic common sense it all made. As stated, I've been on the program for almost a year.
I have lost a total, of 76 pounds. Yes, Seventy Six. And with the continued encouragement of Dr Beuhler's recordings, I truly believe that, this time, I can keep it off. For the first time in my life (and I am going on 56 years old, so have been at this for a while) I feel like I have control over my weight, my health, my future. Thank you, Darcy Beuhler and "Think Yourself Thin".

I had hoped this book would be better. Unfortunately the book lacks inspiration and the author's voice on the CD's is painfully hard to listen to. I couldn't relax listening to her. It's too bad because the basic premise of the book is excellent and she makes some good points. Thanks to some other excellent books on the subject, I've been able to change my life. By accessing the subconscious, my weight loss struggle finally went beyond dieting, which was the key for me. Just consider what drives your eating habits, that's the place to start. Most people are so focused on working from the outside in, rather than the inside out, they are never able to build a real foundation for permanent lifestyle change. I'm over the 'lose weight fast' diets and bogus pills, I'm getting thinner and healthier by changing the way I think about myself and food.
