I've been reading Tales of Starlight in conjunction with Dragons

I've been reading Tales of Starlight in conjunction with Dragons of Starlight to get the overall picture of the storyline. I'm very impressed with the character development throughout the storyline; Mr. Davis has written characters that the reader can legitimately care about. Dialogue and interaction between the characters is lively and interesting and helps to drive the plot along. The environments of both Mesolantrum and Starlight (Darksphere and Dracon?) are convincing and well thought out. The history of both worlds is well developed. Combining these things with poetry and song interspersed throughout the storyline suggests a J.R.R. Tolkien influence. My only complaint about the storyline is that occasionally events from one book cross over into another without warning or explanation. This is remedied by reading both the teen and adult series, but it does lead to "where did that come from" moments. Overall, a minor detail.
I appreciate reading the work of a Christian author who sees no need to resort to profanity, excessive bloodshed or sexual content. Such content is slowly creeping into Christian fiction and Mr. Davis refuses to surrender to that influence. As a fellow Christian author, I find that highly commendable.
If you are looking for good, clean entertainment on an epic scale with a number of positive spiritual messages to consider, Bryan Davis is the author for you.
