The Thirteenth

Well, we've come to the end of the journey. Damali and Carlos have battled with the dark side. They have been through hell and back and back again to emerge defiant, stronger.

The team has battled Lucifer and his Minion many times before, but now it's Armageddon and either good or evil will win! If this isn't enough to contend with The Guardian Allies are being taken down one by one leaving the Team without worldwide defenses. They no longer have funds or a home to go to. This is for real!

Fortunately they have met a new ally in an unexpected package.

Evil, wretched Lilith is up to her old tricks and nastier than ever, and with Lucifer by her side it is questionable as to who will win? The dark side is holding nothing back, they want it all and what better way to achieve this than getting rid of our Neteru's and The Guardians!

This is the culmination of all the books. Questions are answered while new ones arise! A new set of Neteru's will come to be and new Guardians to watch over them! If you've never read The Vampire Huntress Legend Series, then here is your opportunity to start. 12 books in this exciting action packed series beginning with MINION. You see the bottom line is Good vs. Evil and Evil never wins!

As compared with the earlier installments in the Vampire Huntress series, (much less "Bitten" and "The Hunted" which I consider the apex of the series), this final submission concludes with a pat and a wink rather than a punch. This last tale successfully winds up the armageddon mythology, however it lacks the suspense/tension/detail/action of the earlier adventures. Further, the relationships, (including personal interactions and one or two sex scenes), are somewhat staid and stale. If you're a longtime fan, by all means read this last concluding book, but I recommend you definitely skip it as a one time proposition.

The end of a great series...

I just finished the last book in this very entertaining series and now I must find another series to be devoted to. I really hope Ms. Banks continues the story in the near future from a different perspective. Fans of this series will not be dissappointed by the ending. Ms. Banks made sure that there were no loose ends, but left enough unsaid that if she wants to continue the story she can. This book was among my favorites of the series. I don't feel like I was left hanging.

This book is about Damali and the rest of the guardians having their last stand against Lucifer and the darkside. Anyone interested in starting this series should start at Book 1 and work your way through all 11 books before this one. The story won't be as enjoyable if you start in the middle or at the end.

If you like fantasy, action, romance, and a different twist on good vs evil, you will enjoy this book and the series!

    Reads like todays newspaper

If you have never read a book written by L. A. Banks you are missing out on a good read.

This book and this series is so totally well crafted it's viseral, totally sureal and a whole lot of adjectives that still do her work little justice.

Inspite of the fact that this series starts out as Vampire Lore, read past the metaphors and hear the words of truth that correlate to real life and real dilema.

Don't just read this novel because an African-American novelist wrote this work of art. Read this becuase the words encompass gender lines, color lines, socio-economical lines. This book crosses religous barriers takes you through a walk of history not only the history of Kemet, Islam,Judism, Catholism,Budism but urban myth. A real look at the political fasade organized religions and ignites a newness in the goodness of the light.

These stories teach about family, courage, standing for truth and fighting for what is right inspite of what is the best thing to do.

The depth of research to create this series undoubtedly has been a painstaking and heartfelt mission.I take my hat off to you Ms. Banks it takes a lot of character to write a novel outside of what everyone believe women of color are capable to do.

Ms Banks has done the final installment justice to the max. The cover alone kept me repeatedly going back to wipe the drool off my mouth. He is so fine it is ridiculous.

Ms Banks concludes the series with all the style and drama that was evident througout this entire saga of good vs. evil and this unusual romance between Carlos and Damali. The picture of Carlos on the front just made me scream and shake my head -- the model is as fine and as perfect as any Carlos Rivera I could have imagined based on the series. I had to go back and reflect on how good he looks after reading several poignant scenes in the book. Ummph, ummph, ummph! It was so compelling I have alredy read "Thirteenth" twice and the entire series at least four times. I am an absolute LA Banks fan and read everything she writes!

    GREAT ENDING

This was a great ending to a great book. I was consumed by what was happening and was so glad to see new beginnings and relationships started.
