Learning to love in a new way - indeed!
As Marilyn Lacey volunteers to help process refugees upon their arrival in the United States, little does she guess that her life will be permanently changed by these newcomers. "Learning to love in a new way" is how she understands the central call in her life. Told with humor and humility, Marilyn's story quickly engages readers. By the time she volunteered to serve in refugee camps far from home, I was hooked. At times I laughed out loud; at other times, I wept over the poignant stories of refugees. This is a wonderful book, told with sensitivity and great love. I hated to see it nearing an end, but in Marilyn's closing chapter, she offers a precious opening into her own heart. There we discover the great "why" of her life. It's the profound spirituality of this chapter that I keep coming back to for my own spiritual nourishment and growth. Thank you, Marilyn!
