One of the best Thor renditions ever

As a fan of mythologies I have always been fascinated by modern despictions especially in comics. Thor has been a perennial favorite for me but the writing quality has been on and off as long as I can remember. This is not so in this new interpretation of our favorite Norse god. Thor's makeover goes far beyond a costume change (finally looks like armor, not from a rock band!) and into his character. His interactions with his alter ego are full of little nuances that bring life to a character that had become somewhat stale and cookie cutter in the past (who gets to hold Thor's bighammer next?! Meh). Big kudos to Marvel for taking a chance and assembling such and amazing team. This is a safe purchase for anyone that have liked Thor in the past and for any comic fan looking for a refreshing and well written comic. Like the other reviewer commented, the scene when Thor confronts Iron Man simply is amazing and this book is full of moments like those.

Apparently of No Relation to David Lee Roth

I used to think Thor was a joke. I mean, c'mon, the guy looked like a reject from Dio; I expected him to swing a guitar and sing backup to Holy Diver. Then he got a makeover. His look become less 80's hair metal band and more viking (what a marvelous concept). Stracyzynski is easily one of the best writers in comics today and Coipel's art is fresh and full of energy. If you need one solid reason to buy this book how about seeing Thor beat the living tar out of Iron Man: You're convinced now aren't you...yeah you are.

Is this book appropriate for eleven year olds? In other words, no "adult content"?
