John Gilstrap demonstrates why he is one of the best thriller writers with this action packed tale
Jonathan Grave owns a security firm whose mission is the rescue of hostages around the globe. In rush hour on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge two predators open fire killing many people on the bridge. Jonathan kills one of these mass murderers and is about to take down the second when an over zealous secret service agent arrests him. The FBI gets Jonathan released.
On that bridge Good Samaritan Christyne Nasbe, ignoring her son Ryan's advice, allows a woman into her car to help her get away from the violence. The woman abducts the pair taking them to the Army of God. They keep the mother and son as hostages and place on the ne pictures of them with Ryan injured. The victims are the wife and son of Jonathan's friend Boomer from when he served in the Unit. His former Commander asks him to rescue the family. Jon and his crew trace the terrorists to an isolated compound in West Virginia where the killers plan to execute their captives. The Grave team prevents the murders but is trapped by the cult members inside the compound. Jon also knows if they escape alive his mission is not over as he must stop an assassination of a prominent person.
John Gilstrap demonstrates why he is one of the best thriller writers with this action packed tale that soars from the opening bridge scene and never slows down to allow the hero a respite except overnight in a DC prison holding cell. Although Jonathan is on the surface a standard implausible thriller hero, readers will enjoy his actions as he rejects the law being in cement especially by those who conveniently flaunt it as killers or officials. With a late twist involving his partner setting up the next conflict, readers will relish Threat warning and look forward to more Digger Grave tales (see No Mercy and Hostage Zero).

Best one yet!
Digger, Boxers, and Venice deliver again in a great page turner that's difficult to put down. John Gilstrap delivers again. If you have not been reading this series you need to start now.

Thrill Warning
I've been waiting for the latest Jonathan Grave book in the series by John Gilstrap since the second I turned the page of the last book. These are high-action books that keep you turning pages for more reasons than just the adventure of following along with special-ops trained soldiers "Digger" and "Big Guy". For me, it is the humanity of the story that keeps me locked into the story. These are action-heroes that care and are real. Never once have I thought any of the dialogue or characters were a stretch or unbelievable. These are two men I would love to know!
In Threat Warning, a mother and child of a special-ops soldier in Afghanistan are kidnapped and held hostage by a cult called the Army of God. As a rescue specialist, Jonathan "Digger" Graves and his team must go in and secure the precious cargo. The tension does not falter throughout the whole book. It grips you from page one and does not let you go.
Gilstrap is a master of the thriller genre, but it is the emotional tug of the story that sets him apart. Digger fights for children with whatever means necessary, Gail, his girlfriend/team member, fights for the law and to do things by the book; they are fighting for the same cause from two very different points-of-view. This is the emotional drama of the book and series that I fell in love with in the first two books (No Mercy and Hostage Zero).
I LOVED every minute of Threat Warning, especially the promise of book four! I will be waiting anxiously for the next installment, as you should. I highly recommend this and each book in the series.

Great read!
Picked this up by total chance and was far from disappointed! Quick and easy read, was hard to put down. Just enough background to keep you filled and not enough to bog things down. Good characters keep things moving along. Made it easy to purchase other books by John Gilstrap, great job!

Excellent Read
Gilstrap's Digger Graves is right up there with the best of the serialized action characters (Mitch Rapp, Oliver Stone). The key to novels like these success is that at the end you want to read the next one and Gilstrap pulls that off with flying colors.

Another great Gilstrap read
If you have read any other of Gilstrap's thrillers with Jonathan Grave as the hero, you will like this one too. It has action, adventure and makes you think about killing in self defense.

Great read - fast pace action novel
Gilstrap's Jonathan Grave novels are excellent action novels with a strong story line and multiple character involvement to make it a can not put down read. I have read all the Jonathan Grave novels and have enjoyed each one. Recommend you read them in chronological order but each one does stand on its own. If you like action novels with good guys against bad guys with nerve racking endings then you will love Threat Warning by John Gilstrap.

Digger does it again!
Mr. Gilstrap is a fine author with other books to his credit than Johnathan Grave Books but these books are so enthralling I can't help but wait for the next one in the series to come out and then devour it as soon as I download it onto my Nook. This book is the third in the series and each one just keeps getting better and better. I hope Mr. Gilstrap realizes that he has a legion of devoted fans just waiting (not so patiently ) for each new Johnathan Grave book. I love, love, love these books!
