Fabulous series!!!
I just loved this book, the characters were both interesting and myself I find it refreshing that the man does the chasing! If I have to read one more Regency about how the young innocent lady is on her knees for an unattainable rogue I will simply lose it. This heroine is smart, well read and actually unimpressed when others judge her for her beauty alone. The loves scenes are sensual and sexy, the hero and heroine are terrific in that they actually talk honestly with one another. The 'teach me how to make a man fall in love with me' is a ploy that could have so easily fallen flat, but Ms. Jordan does it with such talent in her writing that you not only believe the heroine, you are cheering her on. I loved this book! Can't wait for more in the series...

Historical excellence
When an independent beauty asks for lessons in love from a rake who is notorious for his extraordinary lovemaking skills, a tale of sensually blistering passion and unexpected emotion is guaranteed to follow.*****Having seen her parents destroy themselves in a loveless marriage, Roslyn Loring is determined to marry for nothing less than true love. She attends a Cyprian¿s masked ball in an attempt to find out what makes a man fall for a woman. It¿s there that she meets Drew Moncrief, the Duke of Arden, who is on the prowl for a mistress. Roslyn successfully evades him for a short time, but doesn¿t escape him altogether until after the two have shared a briefly passionate encounter. When Roslyn is confronted by Drew at her sister¿s wedding to his best friend, she has no choice but to admit to the suspicious Drew the true reason behind her attendance at the ball. When she goes so far as to ask him for lessons in seduction so she can seduce her handsome neighbor into proposing, Drew cannot refuse.****** When Drew sees the familiar face of Roslyn Loring at his friend¿s wedding, it doesn¿t take long before he places her as the young woman he met at the ball. He threatens to expose her to her family if she doesn¿t tell him the truth behind her risqué behavior. Once he gets past the initial shock of Miss Loring¿s request to teach her the ways of seduction, he finds he cannot refuse her. When those lessons go beyond simple instruction and the two become intimate, Drew can no longer bear the thought of continuing to prime Roslyn for another man. He wants her for himself, but convincing Roslyn that he is ready to put his rakish ways behind him won¿t be easy. It appears that Drew may well have a lesson or two to learn from his delicately beautiful pupil.*****TO BED A BEAUTY is the second in a three-book ¿Courtship Wars¿ series by Nicole Jordan. I read this book before reading the first book and enjoyed it very much as a stand-alone novel. I didn¿t feel as any details were missed by my not having read the first book. Roslyn is an independent, highly intelligent woman who is determined to marry on her own terms rather than those set out by society. Her strong feelings after the heartache and pain she and her sisters experienced at the hands of their parents are excellently written. Drew is a rake, a real ladies¿ man who is determined to never marry. Having been raised by a coldhearted mother he has his own reasons to avoid shackling himself to a woman. Watching these two fall for each other, incredulous at the deep emotions the other has stirred, was highly enjoyable. Secondary characters and events serve to enrich this wonderful story without detracting from Roslyn and Drew. Ms. Jordan is undoubtedly one of the masters of historical romance and I highly recommend this book as well as any of her previous work. I did go back and read the first book in this series, TO PLEASURE A LADY, and equally enjoyed it, but haven¿t yet read the third book, TO SEDUCE A BRIDE. If you enjoy fine historical romance, I hope you won¿t miss this latest series from Nicole Jordan.

delightful Regency romance
In 1817 Roslyn Loring strongly believes that a happy marriage must include an exchange of the hearts although she also understands that she must keep her spouse sexually satiated. Still abetted by her friend Cyprian Fanny Irwin she attends a masked ball as a courtesan. Andrew Moncrief is drawn to Roslyn, whom he recognizes in spite of her mask. --- He offers her a tempting deal in which he will teach her the art of lovemaking if she becomes his mistress she accepts with the stipulation her reputation must not get ruined by this scandalous behavior as she plans to marry the duke next door Drew¿s mentoring lessons will keep her future husband in her bed and not that of a mistress. The sex is incredible leading Roslyn to wonder if Drew is the one or perhaps she is wanton. He realizes she is the one when an adversary threatens his beloved. --- The second Courtship Wars skirmish (see TO PLEASURE A LADY) is a delightful Regency romance starring two likable protagonists. The story line is fast-paced from the moment that Roslyn makes her Faustian deal and never slows down as she begins to comprehend what the devilish details mean to her heart and soul. Readers will appreciate the second battle between sensual sirens and the hunks obsessed with making love with them. --- Harriet Klausner

Good Flow
I think this book may be one of my favorites so far by EJ. I like both characters very much and Drew was charming. Roslyn wasn't whiney and they didn't drag out anything longer than necessary. Good one!

it started out nicely but....
I believe that the book actually started out nicely as the continuation of Marcus and Arabella's "to pleasure a lady". This one is the story of the middle child Roslyn. At first i like the way Roslyn and Drew interacted with one another but i started to hate the book after she broke off her engagement with Drew. Like her sister, she's stuck in her past which shows her weak character. I do understand as to why she believes on her beliefs but there's a limitation on how far she can be stubborn etc... because they argued and yelled on each other in two or three sentences she breaks off her engagement like silly 10 years old?!? i find her as ridiculous as her older sister. Sure they are independent, nice, they have their own mind and their friends really do treasure them but they annoy me when they start being irrational. they did not start to be irrational but they end up one. i guess i just don't like Nicole Jordan's way of writing.

Beyond Bad
Nicole Jordan´s three books in this series are what I describe as bad porn and in my opinion not worth the paper they are written on. I write this with extreme disappointment as these books had been rated by readers as very good. I can guarantee never again!

Love it, love it, love it
The second book is this series is even better than the first. I could not put it down...I finished reading it over a weekend. It's one of Jordan best yet! I started reading the third one, but it's not as existing as this one. Roslyn and Drew are perfect for each other. They compliment each other well.

A reviewer
This gets high scores for romance! In other respects it was still good but the romance is what works here, and isn't that the whole point. The heroine, Roslyn, makes things nice and difficult for her hero, ARden, but he comes through it all!

What a fantastic story. Such romance only Nicole Jordan could manage. Just gotta love Roslyn. What a clever character. From start to end, a serious page turner. Highly recommend this one too. Looking forward to number three.

Loved it!!!
Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down!! Great story line, kept moving. I loved how strong minded Roslyn was. The passion they felt for each other was wonderfully written. I would highly recommend reading this book and the first book in the series, To pleasure a Lady. I can't wait to read the last one.
