    This One is A Keeper!!!

I was thrilled to find this was a book that I wound enjoy from start to finish. The main characters - Princess Amber and Miles Montgomery were memorable indeed. I really enjoyed how so very direct, honest yet, gentle and loving Princess Amber was to everyone around her - not at all your stuffy and aloof typical royal. This could come from her upbringing and being alone and needing to keep the faith but, also from the love she got from the right people - her counsins and few friends. You will be charmed by her honest nature, generosity and innocent ways that charm everyone (i.e., singing to the flowers in the garden to make them bloom, making 'happy' cakes for everyone, sneaking away the perfumed letters that keep coming to Miles from other women, etc). In turn, Miles is a winning leading man. Even though he is down on life when she meets him after loosing his wife and child in a fire and being badly burned himself, Miles can't miss the sparkle and sunshine that is Amber's alone. She draws him out from the darkness as her light shines so bright. It's beautiful to see how she gives him back the reason to live and he gives her the safety and security she always longed for in life. I like that Miles was clearly a ladies man before he met and fell in love with his first wife Brenna but...he is able to grow as a man and see that love with Amber is even better the second time around. It's never easy for women to know our men loved another before us but...woman like Amber know if a man eventually falls for them, that love is solid, strong and will grow with the years - even as mistakes are made. Together they take a journey into married life, new friendships and intrigue to keep her out of her dangerous uncles' mean hands. The secondary characters are fun and enjoyable too - Samantha & Prince Rudolf, Isabelle and James, Just Pebbles (the butler) and Miles daughter Caroline. You can't help but love this book from start to finish. It's truely a love story of two meeting meeting under strange circumstances, learning to love another and even when mistakes are made, the goodness of the heart wins the day. The love scences are lightly written and not intense. Frankly, I thought it was just enough as the story alone took up most of what was needed in the book. Any more intimacy and it would have over-rode all the other things going on in the book that were so much more important. If you just want an erotic, sexy and steamy story - go elsewhere. If you want to smile, think about what if and dream on...this is the one for you. The only drawback I felt to this story was the solving of the fire that Brenna died in. The reason was found fast and very little revolved around the solivng of this mystery. I felt it could have played out more in the book seeing how Miles was despondent for four years over the fire, her death and his scarring. Oh well...nothing is perfect. Most of this book was though..I say, buy it, add it to your library and don't share. It's a keeper! I look forward to buying and reading the other books by this author in this series. Patricia Grasso makes romance novels worth reading. Enjoy!

    Another great story

As the previous reviewer has gone over everything I was going to say...all I can say is don't walk to read this book. This is an amazing love story between two lonely people. One willing to take a chance and marry without love the other scarred from a fire that took the love of his life, lonely thinking he could never love again. This book had me in tears again..Ms. Grasso knows just what heartstrings to pull. You get to read about Samantha, Rudolph again plus those crazy Kazanov brothers and Isabelle and James This is the first book in her new series about the Kazanovs.
