Another Whoopi Winner!!
If you have a little girl, 6 to 10, and you are looking for something she will love to read, this is the series foe you... and her. My granddaughter loves these books so much I use them as rewards! Each one has a little moral to the story delivered in a lighthearted, fun to read tale about a funny and adorable group of girls who met at a Harlem ballet school. In this one, Brenda, a braniac who feels she must compete with her rich cousin who has everything, tells a lie and 'borrows' some prized toe shoes from her ballet teacher to back it up. There are serious consequences and lessons to be learned. I love Ms. Goldberg's characters and the way they are all different but come together to help each other. These are great books and if we didn't have them all, I'd buy the series for Christmas.

Brenda's Blunder.
An engaging storyline will capture young readers attention and keep them wondering until the last page. This storyline has a great lesson for all ages and explains some of the possible outcomes of actions we take. As with the other Sugar Plum Ballerina tales the illustrations in "Toeshoe Trouble" are well detailed and beautiful. ** The other Sugar Plum Ballerina novels are enjoyable to read as well.

Excellent and Interesting According to My Daughter
This is one of the few series that speaks to the African American Girl experience. My daughter says she reads them because they are interesting. I think she can really connect with these girls! Their personalities remind me of the"characters" from my old childhood. Thanks for making my daughters childhood great Miss Goldberg!

My daughter loves these books
I bought the first book, Sugar Plum Ballerinas, for my daughter some months ago. As an African-American girl, she doesn't have the opportunity to read many books about people who look like her. She enjoyed the first book so much that I bought this one, and she's enjoying it as well.
