First, like everyone else in the world, i love the new third person view of Fisher. And really, did Micheals go a writing class or something, because everything is written so much better, from dialogue,, to action, to the realization that you don't need swears every line to keep you interested. The only reason that i gave this a four is that there were several gramatical errors, but it isn't enough to take away from the experience.

Good book but the fisrt two was really better

Mr. David Michaels listen to me forget the review i made for the first splinter cell book you wrote. the first one and the second one was a masterpiece. Dont get me wrong checkmate is a good book but it falls really short to what you came up with the first 2 books you wrote. go back and write the way you wrote the first 2 books you wrote please.

    Obviously a different writer!

Well, it is obvious that a different writer took on this book. It was a good plot and action, but the style of narration was so different that it seemed like the writer didn¿t even know what the other two books, or character was about. The grammatical errors in this book was so distracting that it was pain full to read. I hope the next one is better.

    Splinter Cell: Check Mate

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Check Mate is the third int he Splinter Cell series. Sam Fisher is a splinter cell a agent of the government agency that no one knows about. If he is compromised then he is disowned by America. In the beginning of this book Sam Fisher is about to test a new secret parachute called the parafoil which is not important right now, when a ship (the Duroc) is noticed by other authorities with a radioactive substance. I can not tell you what happens next. In the 15 hours after Sam Fisher landed on the Duroc the town of Slip Stone has become a ghost town. The people dead of radio active poisoning. Another ship would be discovered off the coast of Slip Stone and the radio active material from both ships would be tested to see if they could tell where it came from and where it came from will shock you. This book is full of action and suspense but nothing like the first or second books. This is one of Tom Clancy's few disappointing books.
